Monday Night Malay/Singapore Dinner

Had dinner with Alyssa tonight at a little Malaysia/Singapore place in Sheung Wan.
Overall, I give the food a "not bad".  The Laksa was pretty good,but, the Chicken Rice was a bit disappointing.

Workout of the day (x2)

Morning: Today was suppose to be a long run day, but, it was just too hot.  Managed 5 times around the track or 6.9km in 44min before I stopped.

Afternoon:  Did another hero workout today.  Tyler is dedicated for 1LT Tyler E. Parten, 24, of Arkansas, died Sept. 10 in Konar province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

5 rounds for time:

7 muscle ups (since I can’t do muscle ups… 21 pullups, 21 ring dips)
21 #95 Sumo deadlift highpull.

This workout was pure hell for me.  Blisters ripped off on my hands and I was already tired from the morning run.  Stuck with it and finished in 49m20s.  Yikes.

Workout of the day

Back to Repulse Bay for my beach workout!

4 Rounds for time. Middle pushups and squats are done on the swim platform.

1 round equals:

Swim 150m
20 Pushups
20 Squats
Swim 150m
20 Pushups
20 Squats

Time: 27:10 compared to 31:14 last time.  To be fair tho, last time I did 5k in the morning while today I was fresh.

Workout of the day

I decided to tackle Daniel for today’s workout. "Daniel" is a Crossfit workout dedicated to Army Sgt 1st Class Daniel Crabtree who was killed in Al Kut, Iraq on Thursday June 8th 2006.
 

For time:
50 Pull-ups
400 meter run
95 pound Thruster, 21 reps
800 meter run
95 pound Thruster, 21 reps
400 meter run
50 Pull-ups

I did full rx for this workout and completed it in 29m41s.  Those last 50 pullups were no fun.

Big Mac Trade


Decided to try out a trade from the Big Mac index I talked about yesterday.  I like the long RMB here but being short Euro given how awful the outlook is for the USD doesn’t feel right.  PPP is a long long term concept so I’ll see how this looks in 1 year.  I don’t pay any commissions for stock trades so this little experiment costs nothing.  EUO is a 2x short which is why the delta$ is only 50 bucks.
